Biography
Professor Kari Slater is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. She joined the CMHC faculty in 2026 and is teaching Strategies of Counseling and Human Development.
Professor Slater has specialized experience working with eating disorders, domestic violence, young adults, and spiritual integration in counseling. She has a small private practice where she provides short-term counseling and supervises counselors pursuing licensure, and counselors working in a victim assistance center.
Professor Slater researches and presents various topics, including eating disorders, size-inclusive counseling practices, and spiritual integration in counselor education. She is also currently serving as the President of her local chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
